This day in area sports history: Feb. 21

1949: Harvey defeats Kirtland, 66-49, led by Tom Pietila’s 16 points in a balanced attack, then get the good news that it will play Ashtabula in the upcoming Euclid Shore tournament, to whom it lost twice during the regular season.
